Rasulullah SAW said: ((There will be no movement of a servant’s feet on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about four things: his life and what he spent it on? His body and what he used it for? His knowledge and what he spent it on? And his wealth from what he earned it and what he spent it on?)).

Rasulullah SAW said:

“A servant’s two feet will not move on the Day of Resurrection, until he is asked about four things: What did he spend his life on?

How do we spend our lives? How do we spend it and how does it go? How is our life and work at this age?

How do the years of life pass? Whether life is short or long; God Almighty says: “Every soul will taste death, but you will be given a complete reward on the Day of Resurrection. So whoever is taken out of Hell and put into Heaven, surely he will be the lucky one.” And the life of this world is just an imaginary pleasure. [آل عمران: 185].

In what do we spend our lives? How do we use it? How do we age? What is our age and practices throughout life? How do the years of our life pass, long or short?

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala says:

Every soul will taste death, but its reward will be intact on the Day of Judgment. So whoever survives the fire of hell and enters heaven, then he has achieved success, then what is life? The world is just an imaginary pleasure

“Everyone who has a soul will taste death. And indeed on the Day of Resurrection his reward will be perfect. Whoever is kept away from hell and put into heaven, then indeed he is the lucky one. (QS. Ali Imran: 185).

The truth of its reality cannot be denied by any rational person. Everyone will die, men and women, rich and poor, free and slave, learned and ignorant. Everyone will end his life and leave this worldly life. Everyone will die and no one is immortal. Everyone will definitely experience death, but death is not the end of everything. Rather, it is a transition from one station to another, and from one stage to another. This world is a place of work, and the afterlife is a place of reward and reckoning, and on the Day of Judgment we will be asked about this era, and how is the journey? Where is he? What work of art ends it?

A statement that no sane person would dispute, that everyone will definitely die, whether male or female, rich or poor, free or slave, knowledgeable or stupid, everyone will end their life and leave this world. Everyone will die, no one will live forever. Everyone will taste death. But death is not the end of everything, but only a transition from one stop to another, from one level to another. This world is a place of charity, while the afterlife is a place of revenge and reckoning. All of us on the Day of Resurrection will be asked about this era, how will it end? Where was it spent? And in what practice does this end?

What have I done with my life?

Allah SWT says: “So whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him do good deeds and not associate anyone with anyone in worshiping his Lord.” [الكهف: 110] Good deeds are what is needed. Good and useful deeds have no limits, and cover all areas of life in the soul, in the family, and in work. Good deeds include worship, morals and transactions between people. Rasulullah SAW said: “Three things follow a dead person: his family, his money, and his job. Two things will return and one will remain. His family and money will return, but his job will remain.”

What Have I Done All My Years?

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala says:

So whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him do good deeds and not associate anyone with him who worships his Lord.

“Whoever hopes for a meeting with his Lord should do good deeds and not take anything or anyone as an partner in worshiping his Lord.” (QS. Al-Kahf: 110).

Good deeds are demands. Useful good deeds have no limits, covering every sector of life, whether related to oneself, family or work. Good deeds include worship, morals and relationships between people. Rasulullah SAW said:

Three people followed the dead man, then two returned and one remained with him. His family, money and work followed him, so his family and money returned. And his work remains

“There are three things that take a corpse (into its grave): his family, his wealth, and his deeds. Then two things will return and one thing will remain with him: his family and wealth will return, and his deeds will remain with him.”

The money, land, houses, and possessions we accumulated over our lives return, and the jobs remain.

Work is still good or bad, good or evil, work for this world or the hereafter. All that remains is the work we do during our mortal life; Allah SWT says in Surah Al-Zalzalah: “So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” [الزلزلة: 7، 8].

Will return property, land, and all the possessions he used to collect during his life, everything is returned and only the deeds that accompany it remain.

What remains with him is only pious deeds, whether good deeds or bad deeds, good deeds or bad deeds, deeds for this world or the hereafter. All that remains is practice, which we are used to throughout our lives. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala says in the letter Az-Zalzalah:

So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.

“Whoever does one particle’s worth of good, he will see (the reward). Whoever does one particle’s worth of bad, he will see (the reward).” (QS. Az-Zalzalah: 7-8).

The life we spend working will be reaped on the Day of Judgment, and these deeds will be weighed, and this work will become the basis for survival in the afterlife, and achieving the pleasure of God Almighty in heaven as wide as the heavens and the earth. On the other hand, corrupt and detrimental work will lead the perpetrator to hell and a miserable fate.

The age we previously spent doing those deeds will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment, and those deeds will be weighed. These practices will be the basis for determining safety in the afterlife, and success in achieving the pleasure of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala in heaven which is as wide as the heavens and the earth. On the other hand, bad deeds will lead the perpetrator to Hell, and that is the worst place to return to.

What do we spend our lives on?!

Over the years that have passed, how many verses of the Koran have you memorized?

Our lives will end. How many times have we finished the Koran?

How many people have we invited to pray and be devout?

How many nights have we spent for God’s sake?

How many praises, requests, or memories to God were given during the days of our past lives?

What do we spend our lives on?!

In each year that passes, how many verses of Al-Qur’an Al-Karim have we memorized?

Our age will definitely end, how many times have we completed the Qur’an in it?

How many people have we invited to pray and do good deeds?

How many nights have we struggled in the path of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala?

How many prayer beads, prayers and dhikr to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala have we recited in the days of our lives?

Don’t wait for tomorrow… Don’t wait for the morning… Don’t wait for health… Don’t wait for money… Rasulullah SAW took Abdullah bin Omar, may Allah be pleased with him, by the shoulder and said: ((Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a passer-by)), and Ibn Omar used to say: “If you are at night, do not wait for the morning, and when you are in the morning, do not wait for the night, and take from your health for your illness, and from your life for your death.” So if we can’t guarantee our lifespan between morning and evening, then how can we guarantee our lifespan will be years?!

Don’t wait for tomorrow! Don’t wait for morning! Don’t wait to be healthy! Don’t wait for money!

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam once grabbed Abdullah bin Umar Radhiyallahu ‘anhuma’s shoulder while saying: “Be in this world like a foreigner or traveler!”

Ibn Umar also once said: “In the afternoon, don’t wait for the morning!

If we can’t guarantee our lifespan between morning and evening, how can we guarantee our lifespan will last for years?!

There will come a time when we are asked about our life and how do we spend it? How does it progress and end with beneficial or detrimental actions? And things are differentiated by their opposites. Goodness is opposed to evil, justice is opposed to injustice, truth is opposed to corruption, generosity is opposed to stinginess, honesty is opposed to lies, virtue is opposed to evil, and God’s pleasure is opposed to His wrath. You have to choose which of the two options you choose, which path you will take, and where will you go? Will you choose the path of kindness and giving and spend your life doing good, reforming, and doing good deeds? Or will you spend it in secret and get bad deeds? God Almighty says: “On this day no one will be wronged in any way, and you will not be rewarded except what you usually do.” [يس: 54].

The time will come when we are asked about our age, what do we use it for? How is it authorized and spent? Is it by good or bad deeds?

Everything will appear to be the opposite. Goodness is the opposite of evil, justice is the opposite of injustice, improvement is the opposite of destruction, generosity is the opposite of falsehood, honesty is the opposite of lying, nobility is the opposite of humiliation, and the pleasure of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala is the opposite of His wrath, and of these two things you can choose which one you want? Which path do you want to walk, and where will you pass? Do you wish to choose the path of goodness and devotion, and spend your life in virtue, improvement, and to gain reward? Or do you want to spend it in bad things and get sins? Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala says:

Today no soul will be harmed at all, and you will not be rewarded except what you usually do.

“On that day no one will be harmed in the slightest. You will not be rewarded except for what you have done.” (QS. Yasin: 54).

Today the choice is in your hands, and you have to choose how your life will be spent, and always remember that you will be asked on the Day of Judgment about this life, and where did you spend it? What did you do with him? How is the result?

Today, the choice is yours, and you have to choose how to spend your life. However, you should always note that you will be asked on the Day of Judgment about this age, where did you spend it? What did you do in it? And how did that age pass?
